Mildred Williams Fountain Tigner

Savannah, GA - Mildred Williams Fountain Tigner, age 91, died Monday at Azalealand Nursing Home. The Bulloch County native lived in California, Maryland, and Baxley for many years before retiring to Savannah in 1987. She attended Savannah Public Schools, was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Baxley and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Watson Tigner and her son, Larry Fountain.
Surviving are a brother, Quinnie R. Williams, Sr. of Fernandina Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Anthony K. Fountain of Savannah, Tara Fountain Barrett of Aurora, CO, and Timothy D. Fountain of Savannah; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, with The Reverend Monsignor Frances J. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
